Guangzhou Metro Line 11 was built under a general contract led by the CREC Corporation consortium and managed by China Railway(Guangzhou) Investment & Development. The line forms a circular layout, passing through five major districts: Haizhu, Tianhe, Baiyun, Yuexiu, and Liwan. It intersects with radial network lines in the city center and connects key transport hubs such as Pazhou, Guangzhou East Station, Guangzhou Railway Station, and Baietan (Fangcun), serving as a circular backbone to ease traffic pressure in central areas and create an underground loop for Guangzhou.

The line spans approximately 44.2 kilometers with 31 stations, 31 sections, and one depot. It offers interchanges with 22 metro and intercity rail lines and features 26 transfer stations, earning the title of the “King of Transfers.”

With its opening, Guangzhou Metro Line 11 links the city’s major transportation hubs, enhances grid transfer conditions in central areas, and connects to the Pearl River Delta intercity rail network. It plays a key role in building a globally influential Guangzhou metropolitan area and creating a rail-based Greater Bay Area.
