On December 27, 2024, the jacking and replacing pier construction work of the Jingkou Double-Track Super Bridge on the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Railway Line, undertaken by China Railway Hi-Tech Industry, was successfully completed. This is the first of its kind in China’s railway construction field.
The Jingkou Double-Track Super Bridge is located at the border of Chongqing’s Beibei and Shapingba Districts. It had to pass beneath the existing Jingkou Jialing River Super Bridge on the Shanghai-Chengdu Line, whose necessary space was already occupied by Piers 23 and 24 of the existing bridge. This operation involved lifting the T-beams of the original Jingkou Jialing River Super Bridge and replacing Piers 23 and 24 with two newly constructed portal piers, thereby creating space for the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Railway Line.
